TRUTH: what the world needs - Week 7 (Monday Morning Devotions)
Which truth will we believe?
God's Transcendent Truth has been revealed in the Sacred Word of God, which never changes! And by the grace of God, we come to believe in the truth of God and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. This is news that sounds too good to be true, but it is in fact true.
TRUTH: what the world needs - Week 6 (Monday Morning Devotions)
For those of us who take God at his Word, we must humbly admit that this is the blessed work of Holy Spirit! To God be all glory and praise. You see, we did not choose God, we do not play a role in our being redeemed from our sin and rebellious ways. It is solely by the will and the grace and the work of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
TRUTH: what the world needs - Week 5 (Monday Morning Devotions)
In our world, many would say truth is relative. In other words, what is true for you may not be true for me. I would counter that when truth is said to be relative by an individual, that individual would not know Truth if it were standing right in front of him.
TRUTH: what the world needs - Week 4 (Monday Morning Devotions)
So where does one turn to for the Truth?
We turn to our Creator, His Son, and the Spirit of Truth. In other words, Transcendent Truth comes solely from one source: God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
And where does one learn what God has to say?
One turns to God's Sacred Word.
TRUTH: what the world needs - Week 3 (Monday Morning Devotions)
Who do we believe today? There are so many conflicting points of view and slanted 'facts' and distorted news stories. World views and the various perspectives of people have been in conflict since the fall of mankind for the lies of Satan.
But, I have good news for you today. There is One whom you can trust and who only speaks the truth: Jesus.
TRUTH: what the world needs - Week 2 (Monday Morning Devotions)
One of the truths Christians profess, which we just celebrated and is fresh in our minds, is of the virgin birth of God's Son, Jesus.
In the words of the Apostles' Creed, we profess Jesus "was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary." In the Nicene Creed, we profess Jesus "was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man;" And in the Athanasian Creed, we profess Jesus is God, "begotten from the substance of the Father before all ages; and He is man, born from the substance of His mother in this age."
The virgin birth of baby Jesus, celebrated on Christmas Day, has been brought into question by non-believers around the world. We turn to God's Sacred Word as our source of Transcendent Truth.
TRUTH: what the world needs - Week 1 (Monday Morning Devotions)
We search for transcendent truth, not transient. Transient truth is what mankind comes to think and observe as true. However, over time, transient truth, through advances in technology, may be proven untrue. I will offer one example: for decades, Pluto was considered a planet. Now it is not.
